Praise God-John Wesley Prayer

Regular, frequent prayer is an important part of the lives of people who desire a meaningful relaltionship with God. John Wesley, a devout Christian and the founder of Methodism, had a deep concern for the "state of his soul". Because of what concern he regularly prayed two hours a day. here is one of John Wesley's prayers, which youo may want to include in your devotions.
O God, who are are the giver of all good gifts, I your unworthy servant entirely desire to praise your name for all the exlressions of your bounty toward me.  Blessed be your love for all the temporal benefits which you have with a liberal hand poured out upon me; for my health and strength, food and raiment, and all the other necessaries...I also bless you, that after all my refusals of your grace, you still have patience with me, have preserved me this night, and given me yet another day to renew and perfect my repentance.
Make yourself aSways present to my mind, and let your love fill and rule my soul, in all those places, and companies, and employements to which you call me this day.  O you who are good and do good, who extend your loving-kindness to all mankind, the work of your hands, your image, capable of knowing and loving you eternally:  Suffer me to exclude none, O Lord, from my charity, who are the objects of your mercy; but let me treat all my neighbors with the tender love which is due to your servants and to your children.  Let your lov to me, O blessed Savior, be the patternn of my love to them.
Preserve my parents, my brothers and sisters, my friends and relations, and all mankind in their souls and bodies.  Forgive my enemies, and in your due time make them kindly affected toward me.  O grant that we, with those who are already dead in your faith and fear, may together partake of a joyful ressurection.
Amen

Let me hear of your steadfast love in the morning, for in you I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

Blessings and Hugs to you today!  Michelle

Pink Saturday-Paper Craft Art {Rubber Stamping}

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

The below card is for a girlfriend of mine, her Birthday is Feb. 13th {the same as my son's, my daughter's Feb. 6th is the same as her brother's, isn't that funny}  This background polka dot is with the cuddle bug, glitter on the cake, and glossy accents on the eyeglasses...it's all in the details, right.

The die cut is a stampin up one, and I love it, I'm having so much fun decorating them and adding little treats to the pillowcase box.  The photos above are some sets of cards I made up that are just quick and easy and fun...I coordianted the glitter on each one, if you can see it in the pictures.   Thanks for stopping by and have a great Pink Saturday.  Hugs, Michelle

I love this collage card my daughter made me, she usually make these art collages in a journal and this time she made a card and I love it.  I am blessed to have some family and friends around me to celebrate!  Hugs, Michelle

Two Traveling Angels

Two Traveling Angels....
Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a
wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the
mansion's guest room.
Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole
in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied,
"Things aren't always what they seem"
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but
very hospitable farmer and his wife.
After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels
sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and
his wife in tears.
Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in
the field.
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could
you have let this happen?
The first man had everything, yet you helped him, he accused.
The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and
you let the cow die..
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.
"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was
gold stored in that hole in the wall.
Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his
good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it."
"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death
came for his wife I gave him the cow instead.
Things aren't always what they seem."
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out
the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that
every out come is always to your advantage. You just might not know it
until some time later...
Some people
come into our lives
and quickly go..
 Some people
become friends
 and stay awhile...
leaving beautiful
footprints on our
hearts...
 and we are
 never
 quite the same
because we have
made a good
friend!
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow a mystery.
Today is a gift.
That's why it's called the present!
I think this is special...live and savor every
moment... This is not a dress rehearsal
Right Now -
-somebody is thinking of you.
-somebody is caring about you.
-somebody misses you
-somebody wants to talk to you.
-somebody wants to be with you.
-somebody hopes you aren't in trouble.
-somebody is thankful for the support you have provided.
-somebody wants to hold your hand.
-somebody hopes everything turns out all right.
-somebody wants you to be happy.
-somebody wants you to find him/her.
-somebody is celebrating your successes.
-somebody wants to give you a gift.
-somebody thinks that you ARE a gift.
-somebody loves you.
-somebody admires your strength.
-somebody is thinking of you and smiling.
-somebody wants to be your shoulder to cry on.

Pink Saturday-Crochet finishes

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

Last week I visited Jillian:  http://bellarosaantiques.blogspot.com/2011/01/pink-inspiration-vintage-dinnerware.html.  Stop over and visit her lovely blog and read her story, what beautiful photos she has of all her lovely treasure.  I loved her post last week on her vintage dishes, lovely.  This week's post has a great feature also, stop over.
This is a practice block I wanted to try out and then I just added a picot border, it was a fun quick block with the loopy {chanined} flower petals, I may consider it for a table runner coming up, for now just a decoration for my collections of practice blocks on my kitchen wall.

The "Granny Square", I hadn't made this since I was a teenager, so thought I'd try it again.  I made four for practice and instead of sewing this together with yarn and a yarn needle like I alway had, I tried my hand at a different technique for attaching, by crocheting them together, it gives it an added design element I think, not sure I totally like it, but it may have been my cotton stitches were a little too tight.
Happy Pink Saturday, thank you for visiting, have a great weekend!  Hugs, Michelle

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Yum...red velvet cupcakes.  I made these on the weekend for my daughter...we came home and they just so happened to be being featured on the food channgel on TV, funny coincidence that made it all the more fun to enjoy these.  I found a great country store that sells some of this mix that I picked up before Christmas.  The cream cheese frosting is very rich, I made the oversized cupcakes for the first time and oh my they are sinful, but oh so good to eat.  It seems like cupcakes are such a rage now everywhere you look books, tv, blog, decorating them...they have really become such a celebrity....
So tell me have you made any celebrity cupcakes lately?  Are you make mini's, normal or extra large or one huge giant?  Are you making them for special occasions or just to make any day a special occasion?  What new type of cupcake or themed decorations are you trying?
Here's one site to check out, you are porbably all familiar with the name. http://www.wilton.com/cupcakes/

Snowman Fall From Heaven Unassembled

I hope you enjoy browsing through the handmade rubberstamped cards I've created, yes completely on my own, didn't copy any layouts.  I've had soooo much fun just pullling out my drawer of winter themed stamps and punches and embossing folders.  I've paid particular attention to detail with decorating envelopes that coordinate and adding bling with embossing power, glitter or rhinestones and insdie with the wording a little pumch art.   I also have a great "Snowman" poem below for you to read today. Lots of photos, maybe you will be inspired to go out and make a snowman today.   Blessings, Michelle
The Meaning of the Snowman
The white snow stands for the purity of souls filled with God grace.  The circular snowballs represent God's everlasting love.
The pieces of coal used to make the eyes, mouth and buttons symbolize God's Almighty power.
The carrot nose reminds us that God gives us everything we need to live and grow.
The scarf suggests the warmth of God's tender care.
The top hat reminds us always to keep faith our top priority.
The arms are outstretched t us, as God's always are.
The broom made of starw and wood signifies that Jesus was born and died to cleanse us of sin.
May your heart be ever warmed by the good news of God's great love for you!

Pink Saturday-Quilt Finish

Pink Saturday-stop on over to Beverly our lovely hostess and check out all of the links. http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

Amy Butler Love for my neice, just some charms and borders, so you can see how wonderful it is when the fabric does all the work...my neice is about 8 or 9 years old and she loved it.  I used Densye Schmidt fabric for backing but the quilting didn't show up that great in photos, but she loved it because it was a cute panto of cats and dogs, which they just got one of each for the holidays.   Lots of pretty pinks in here, my favorite is the artsy rose print {the pink one, not orange}, LOVE it.  Happy Pink Saturday, Hugs Michelle

Doll Quilt-House Block

Doll Quilt made using just one block pattern "House".  Finally finished getting the binding on this little doll quilt.  All fabrics are Kaffe Fassett and quilt pattern is Kim Diamond.

The border is quilted with a very small flower design.  I machine stitched the binding down.  The backing is the green fabric, one of the shot cottons.
Hugs, Michelle
